Mmmmm, bacon. Art comes in all size, shape and form, and I guess taste. Kevin Bacon is a great actor and if anyone deserved to have a life-size face sculpture of himself, it's Kevin. Creativity aside, this piece was done for a great cause. It was auctioned off and all proceeds went to "bring joy" to children fighting cancer.
I have alway been a fan of Tim Burton's ingenious work. Soon it will be more then something we can see on screen, but in his very own dimensional world! LACMA will be exhibiting Burton's work from studio characters, original drawings, to personal work and sculptures. The show is scheduled for May 29 to Oct. 31, 2011. What a nice treat for a closing date. I hope you all can make it out to witness this gothastic experience.
I was researching lease deals for the Honda Accord last night and had a rencounter with this old 2 min spot. A great mind is indeed timeless. Century after century people have seen this Rube Goldberg concept come into play, from the original comic art to cartoons and now to actual filmed footage. For a company to produce a commercial over 1:30 min, it sure as hell better be entertaining. This Honda spot "Cog" constructed by W+K accomplished that. I look forward to seeing old ideas executed successfully.
Google has been working hard to come out with yet another weapon for their consumer. I'm already a die-hard Google fanatic, as you can probably tell I'm already using their blog site. Currently Chrome has a beta version for Macs, but everything should tie together nicely soon (Gmail, YouTube, Map, etc).
This video displays a series of commercial for Chrome, a very nice touch using a "low tech" approach in showing a "high tech" development. I truly enjoyed these spots and the cleverness behind them. Not to mention the production and execution was phenomenal. Once again Google did not disappoint, hopefully the full version for Mac will be release soon. Until then, I'll familiarize myself with the PC side.
